Clarksdale Film Festival 2013

Last weekend we saw Muddy Waters, playing with guests, Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, and most of the Rolling Stones. They were playing on our street in the Delta Cinema. Only in Clarksdale Mississippi!

The Clarksdale Film Festival....It nice...

Also, a beautiful old theatre, with its original sign hidden for years by "progress," was unveiled last Friday in Clarksdale by its visionary owner, Kinchen "Bubba" O'Keefe, as a gift to the people of this community and as a sign of creating a future live performance venue, once the old auditorium has been revitalised.

Everything old is new again.....

Speaking of new things....."Cheesehead Blues," a preview trailer for a film being made here in Clarksdale was shown during the Clarksdale Film Festival. Here's a little taste of good cheese:

This week we are wishing luck to the All Night Long Blues Band from Clarksdale. The band is competing in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis next weekend. Here's a short clip of two of the band members performing in the lobby of the Delta Cinema before a film last weekend.
